Egypt’s Green Star Program, managed by the Egyptian Hotel Association, has recognized El Gouna’s hotels for improving environmental performance and social standards while reducing operational costs. This helps reinforce El Gouna’s reputation as an eco-friendly destination in Egypt visitors can experience on the Red Sea.
Global Green Town Award
El Gouna was the first destination in Africa and the Middle East to receive the Global Green Town Award in August 2014. Sponsored by the United Nations Environment Program, this recognition reflects the town’s progress in environmental sustainability and supports its identity as a green town in Egypt and a sustainable community in Egypt.
